Hi Les!
Really interesting site and forum so far. I can't wait to read all of the back posts and hopefully contribute something myself!

Hi Gary.
You've contacted me off forum, so hopefully I've helped you out there. If not feel free to get in touch again or pop a posting here.
All the best.

Hello,
I'm another refugee from the old chapter-one.com site; my interest is mainly in the VCs of WWII and on, but the older stories are still fascinating. The GC and the Medal of Honor from WWII on are also of interest to me. No VCs in the family that I know of, but a lot of RN officers going back to Lord Thomas Cochrane.
See you around.

Welcome to the site. I think there are more pre-1930's VC "fans" here than post-1930's.... so hopefully we can help each other.

Hi Natalie. Welcome to our humble little home. I don't have any info on Tony but if you contact the South Wales Borderers Museum at Brecon they may well have something. Most people researching a VC from the SWB contact the museum (I'm one of them of the guilty parties ) Their website is - www.rrw.org.uk/museums/index.htmI assume you've seen the page I've started for William Jones on the main site? It includes a photo of his medals that are on display - www.eviltaxman.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/vc/jonesw.htmGood luck. Les

Hi Les and the "Chapter 1" vets. I too am a veteran of Mike Chapman's VC site forum and was disappointed when it shut down. How pleasantly surprised I am to find this site!

Cliff. Welcome!!
I'm hoping to provide in on the men that received the VC... a page each (fingers crossed!) that will include pics of the man, the medal and the headstone... but not necessarily all of them, just what ever I can get.
I could cheat and scan images from books and "borrow" photos from other sites, but so far everything I've got has been around for ages or, in many cases, where people have contacted me offered the photos they've taken... and they get an acknowledgment.
Again, welcome and feel free to post!

The wall is still be argued over (the last I heard). The plans have been agreed but there's some red tape holding up the process. The plaque to Dan Burges was due to be installed in the wall sometime middle- to late this year, but nowt's happened I may have to pop in and make a nuisance of myself !!
