My name is Lynsey and I am a history student, up here in Bonnie Scotland. Some of you may recognise me from other forums. Well what can I say...hmmm...I came across this site and forum through another one and thought this seemed to be a place of intelligent and important discussion so I thought I'd join and hopefully contribute something.
I am a newbie to historical study and only know basic info about the VC, so I hope to milk some information out of you all, to further my knowledge. Very selfish but a lot of fun ;D
My major study at the moment is the history of the Great War. I would like to know more about VC's awarded during this period and why they were awarded. Currently, I am writing a dissertation on the Great War and Popular Culture, in order to educate the people that the Great War isn't as forgotten as it is made out to be. If anyone has any helpful hints or suggestions that could aid me in my research process, I would be very grateful.
Anyways, without further ado! I'm off to read the World War One posts!
