It has been reported that Lord Ashcroft has just paid almost £1.5 million for the medal collection of captain Noel Chevasse.
Lord Ashcroft stated that this completes his VC dream of owning a double VC.
The Chevasse medals will go on display with the other 160 VCs which are owned by Lord Ashcroft at the new "Lord Ashcroft gallery", currently being built and financed by Lord Ashcroft, at the Imperal War Museum, and due to open next year.
