There will be a small ceremony for the rededication of the recently renovated grave of J.C.C. Daunt VC at Redland Green Parish Church Cemetery, Redland Green, Bristol at 3.30pm on Sunday 10th September.

The headstone has been badly damaged over the years and a friend of mine has recently gone about getting fixed. If anyone would like more info on the headstone, please let me know.

Below is the heastone as was...... originally there was a cross on top of the stone, but this has been broken in to several lumps.

In memory of Private Henry George BLATCHFORD, 40730, 6th Btn KOYLI. KIA 22/8/1917 age 40. Born in Somerset, lived in Bristol, Died in Belgium.

Also in memory of Stoker 1 Class, Alfred George COOLE, 148601 RN served 1889-1911 & 1914-1915. Died at home 28th August 1915.

Private Walter COOLE, 5203, 1/6th Btn Gloucestershire Reg. Died of disease 10th January 1917 on the Somme. Nephew of Alfred.

Also note the date of death - his kids couldn't get that right - he died 15th April, not the 10th.
