A plaque commemorating Corporal William Dunstan VC was unveiled at the former Golden Point State School, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia on 19 May 2013. After the war he had a distinguished newspaper career with the Herald and Weekly Times Limited. One of his sons, Keith, a well known Australian journalist spoke at the unveiling. William Dunstan was one of seven Australians awarded the Victoria Cross at Lone Pine, Gallipoli, in August 1915. His award was jointly gazetted with Private Alexander Burton in the only case of Australian soldiers sharing the same Victoria Cross citation.
