A file I made some time ago, outlining VCs who were elected to national legislatures (Australia, Canada, New Zealand & UK); includes constituencies and dates of election. VCs in Parliament.pdf (48.98 KB)

Well done David.
At least four Australian VCs have served in Australian state parliaments.
Victorian Parliament William Ruthven VC MLA for Preston 1945-1955 1945. MLA for Reservoir 1955-1961 1955, 1958
* New South Wales Parliament William Currey VC MLA for Kogarah 1941-1948 1941, 1944, 1947
South Australian Parliament Arthur Seaforth Blackburn VC MLA for Sturt 1918-1921 1918
* Tasmanian Parliament John James Dwyer VC MHA for Franklin 1931-1962 1931,1934, 1937, 1941, 1946, 1948, 1950, 1955, 1956, 1959
* Currey and Dwyer retained their seats until their deaths
The lower house in most Australian states is the Legislative Assembly except for Tasmania and the ACT in which it is the House of Assembly. I do not think we have had any upper house federal or state VC members. Queensland and the ACT do not have upper houses.
