The Somme Remembrance Association will inaugurate its first Memorial dedicated to Christopher Cox VC on the 17th March 2007 at Achiet-le-Grand. I can't attend (too far away ) but I'm hoping to have a few photos of the day to post here.

On that ratio, think of the amount of men that died!

It just shows how much I have to learn. I never knew that people who earned the VC were so highly respected enough to get their own memorial. Is this commonplace?

Fairly commonplace. Most VC recipients (I hate the term "winners", as they didn't go out to get one) do have at least a headstone. Many have plaques, like this one for Cox. I personally arranged to have one made for Lt Col Dan Burges here in Bristol - see the Burges page on the main site for more info.
I've currently got loads of photos to upload to the main site... I'm aiming to have a page for each man with a photo and a general write up (nothing too in depth!!) and in many cases, a photo of the headstone, memorial or other items of interest - houses for example.
