I am currently researching a book about Pubs that have military connections - name, event, person etc..
I have details of a number of pubs that are named after either the medal or a recipient or of which a recipient was landlord. I will put the details of these into a list and post here later.
Meantime I would appreciate details of any pubs that forum members may be aware of that fit my criteria.

Dave, Re. your question on pub VC's. A pub in North Ormesby near Middlesbrough, which I believe was called The Albion, had a name change to The Green Howard when Stanley Hollis VC [the D Day VC] took over as landlord. Cheers, Alan.

Alan
Thanks for responding. This is one of several VC connections that I have. After this pub was demolished Stan Hollis took over the Holywell View Pub at Liverton Mines. He was in the process of getting the name changed to The Green Howard at the time of his death.
