We learned today from Major Maurice French that Cecelia Kenna died on 9th October at the age of 97. She was the daughter of Paul Kenna, the Omdurman VC (1898)

Paul Kennas VC action was one of the "three VCs won in as many minutes" as witnessed by Sir Winston Churchill, experiencing his first battle as a War Correspondent riding with the 21st Lancers. the Hon. Raymond Harvey Lodge Joseph De Montmorency and Thomas Bryne being the other two VCs. According to Irish Winners of the Victoria Cross. Forby the VC and DSO Paul Kenna ( English born to an Irish Military family ) recieved the Royal Humane Societys testimonial on Vellum for saving the life of a man who had jumped into the river Liffey near o'Connell bridge in Dublin, as well as two MIDs.
